Gouna Travel Guide

Only 20km (12 miles) up the road from Hurghada, Gouna might as well be on another planet. Where Hurghada was planned badly and implemented worse, Gouna is hard to fault on either front. Gouna is the brainchild of one of Egypt's biggest property developers and has gradually taken off as a real community with a sizeable residential population. Though it remains very much a resort village, it has the atmosphere of a town and is one of my favorite holiday spots in the country.
