The newly minted Park MGM adds to its off-the-beaten-path experience with this spot from Los Angeles nightlife kings Mark and Jonnie Houston. Moving the trend away from the massive, one-room club where everyone’s focused on the DJ, On the Record instead has a more nostalgic vibe. Similar to the Houstons’ other venues, this outpost has multiple, relatively intimate spaces offering different experiences, including a private speakeasy off the main room for VIPs. But don’t worry: There’s still plenty of room to dance. As you walk in, you’re greeted by, well, records, as the entry to the venue is a fully functioning record store for you to peruse and even purchase some vinyl for yourself. The outdoor patio features a 1963 Bristol Lodekka double-decker bus doubling as a DJ booth. Open Wednesday through Saturday from 10:30pm until 4am.
